Woman near Shore Temple
A woman dressed in a sari and holding an umbrella, which she had been using as a parasol, walks in the direction of the town of Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) along the beach.
The Shore Temple, visible in the distance, dates back to the reign of King Rajasimha, at the end of the seventh sentury. It is classified as a World Heritage Site and has shrines for Shiva and Vishnu. The east facing altar catches the sun, which rises over the Bay of Bengal.
